Two Decades of High-Energy Bluegrass
In 2001, The Hillbilly Biscuits (Formerly known as the Hillbilly Gypsies) formed from a chance meeting at the now infamous Wednesday night old time jam in Morgantown, WV. They've been been pickin' n’ grinnin' and entertaining their loyal fans ever since.
The Hillbilly Biscuits are best known for their high-energy live performances. They have entertained the crowd at major festivals, fairs, and concert venues across the mid-Atlantic region and abroad. Their "Old Timey" approach adds an authentic barn party atmosphere to their shows. Watching the whole band work around the single mic is like taking a trip back in time. It'll sure make you want to get up and dance!
About Our Name
Exciting news is here—our band has a new name! After some thoughtful consideration, we decided it was time to drop the term "Gypsy" from our name. Recognizing that this term holds painful associations for many in the Romani community, we wanted to honor that perspective. Words carry power, and when we learn something new, we grow—and this change is a part of that journey.
So, introducing… The Hillbilly Biscuits! The same high-energy, barn-party vibe everyone loves is here to stay, and we’re thrilled to keep the good times rolling under this fresh new name.
